Hi All,
As most, if not all, of you know I received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach International Human Resource Management at Wroclaw University of Economics in Wroclaw Poland beginning in February of 2012. Jackie has decided that she will go with me and Danielle, Tom & CJ are "taking" Cassie (our 12 year old Husky). Getting through all the paperwork (medical exams, visas, etc..) is taking more time than I thought. Also, getting the normal bill-paying process re-oriented to being "out-of-the-country for five months is time consuming.
Nevertheless, we are certainly excited about the trip. Wroclaw is a beautiful city of about 700,000 people and terrific cultural activities so, in addition to my teaching, we expect to be very busy. We anticipate weekend trips to Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw and Gdansk during February and early March. As the weather turns to Spring we expect to visit Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and several cities in Germany. Hoping to get to Malta over Easter, and we are planning a nine day train trip through Italy the first week in May. We will meet Kenny & Bunny Haase (good friends and members of our bi-annual hiking group) in Amsterdam in the middle of May.
We will be "Skyping" as much as possible, just remember that we are six hours ahead of most of you. I decided not to take my golf clubs-- too much of a hassle-- I'll just rent clubs when the opportunity arises.
Any comments or suggestions on places to visit or "must see" sites are always welcome.
